Spain began this championship with three straight wins in the group stage to give Luis Aragone’s team the perfect base for the quarterfinal against Italy.This tight fought game went to penalties which the Spanish won 4-2. The semi final was the complete opposite with a convincing demolition of an in form Russia who failed to reproduce their best form 3-0.
